SCHOOL DECISION CHART

The School Decision Chart is a flow-chart describing the series of steps to take when students exhibit motivational or other disruptive behavior problems. The steps are interactional, i.e., they involve interactions between two or more people, e.g., teacher and student. Solutions (designated by "YES" in the "Solutions" column) to student problems can be achieved at any step. When problems are not solved at any step in the chart (designated by the "NO" arrow), solution is sought at other steps. The School Decision Chart is designed to avoid labeling children with individual diagnoses prior to understanding the interactional nature a child/student problem.
